Three current public health emergencies have appeared in the news recently. The National Library of Medicine’s Disaster Information Management Research Center provides information on these and other public health threats. The Center has published a customized page of reputable Zika virus resources. The center has also published PDF fact sheets on the Aliso Canyon gas leak, and lead levels in the Flint, Michigan water supply.
The Louisiana Department of Health & Hospitals (DHH) published a fact sheet about Zika disease. The DHH Center for Environmental Health runs the Safe Drinking Water Program for Louisiana, which includes specific information about lead and copper in drinking water supplies.
