Librarian Selected for Course in Research Data Management

Julia Esparza, head of user education and outreach services, has been selected through a competitive process to participate in a course on “Biomedical and Health Research Data Management for Librarians.” The goal of the course is to help librarians implement or enhance research data management training and services at their institutions.  The program is sponsored by the National Library of Medicine and the National Network of Libraries of Medicine Training Office.  Following eight weeks of online coursework, Ms. Esparza will complete a Capstone project to apply her new skills and knowledge to the support of data management services at LSU Health Shreveport.  The experience will culminate with a Capstone Summit, held in April at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland, where Ms. Esparza will share her Capstone project and meet with experts in data science.
