Art by Cancer Patients in Library
Selected paintings from Feist-Weiller Cancer Center’s Arts in Medicine program are currently on display in the Health Sciences Library. This special program offers cancer patients the opportunity to recreate paintings by some of the most historically influential artists, as well as artists from the local community. Volunteers trace the paintings to create a color-by-numbers pattern and cut the sketch into 10-inch squares. Then, the patients paint the squares during chemotherapy. Last, the squares are combined, framed, and placed on display. For more information about the program, contact Darlene Whitaker at firstname.lastname@example.org.
